You're my Favorite Indulgence

by Dove

Alone in a bakery,
Smelling pastries and sweets,
Woe, the temptation,
Ah, the fresh heat.
Alone in a bakery,
So much I could do,
So many things to choose from,
But none resemble you.
Alone in a bakery.
Who cooked all these things?
Took time to kneed dough,
Shape, bake, coat icing.
Alone in a bakery,
Carbs calling my name,
Mouth salivating
To the smell of sugar cane.
Alone in a bakery,
Full of dough nuts and pies,
Each one seemingly precious,
Each appealing to eye.
Alone in a bakery,
Smelling pastries and sweets,
Woe the temptation,
When it's only you my taste longs to meet.
