Its not within him to love me.

He stares at me kindly
he gives me a smile
offers me a hug
and even keeps me
company for a while

he talks to me softly
as i stare at his lips
hopefully hoping
to steal that one kiss

he makes feel good
he has such a big heart
yet in his eyes i see
his heart does not
have a place for me

its a beauty full friendship
more then i can ask for
but my heart still desires
a little bit more

as i try to figure it out
why being friends isn't enough
i realize its because
i need passion and love

its hard to control myself
when i have him so close
like love is a medicine
and he's the perfect dose

But things are what they are
and its not meant to be
Still today i wonder
why it doesn't lies within him
to love me
